Do we need to have our own ultrasound machines? No, you don't need to bring your own ultrasound machines. We provide them for the workshops.

What live dogs are used? We use live volunteer dogs. These dogs ideally weigh between 10-20 kg, are lean, and amenable to gentle handeling.

How many participants are needed for a workshop? Our hands-on workshops run with a maximum ratio of 4 participants per instructor, ensuring direct supervision and individual feedback throughout the session.

What time can workshops be run? Workshops can be scheduled to suit your clinic. Contact us to discuss timing.

Do I need to take the online course? Yes — hands-on training is available only to those who have completed the online lecture series and passed the associated test. Please complete the online course before registering for a workshop.

How much does a workshop cost? The online lecture series is $300 CAD, purchased through Calgary Veterinary POCUS Academy.

For hosted in-clinic workshops, the hands-on fee is $850 AUD per person.

For scheduled public workshops, pricing is set by the host venue — see the registration link for details.

Do I need any prior ultrasound experience? No prior experience is required. The online lecture series and hands-on workshop are specifically designed for veterinarians at any stage of their POCUS journey.

Will I receive a certificate on completion? Yes — a certificate of completion is issued for the hands-on workshop. CPD hours are allocated based on your state veterinary board requirements — you will be asked to confirm your state on registration.

The online lecture series provides 8 hours of RACE-approved CE on completion, issued through Calgary Veterinary POCUS Academy.
