About VPOCUS

VPOCUS Australia brings together experienced clinicians and educators committed to practical, clinically driven POCUS training. Our instructors work at the intersection of emergency medicine, general medicine, internal medicine and veterinary education — with a shared focus on skills you can apply from day one.

Dr. Pam Manning

Pam Manning is an emergency veterinarian at SASH and a clinical educator at the Sydney School of Veterinary Science, University of Sydney. She created VPOCUS Australia to bring international-standard POCUS training to Australian practitioners — combining internationally developed online content with hands-on workshops delivered across the country.

Pam is a member of the International Veterinary POCUS Consensus Group and an invited instructor at JaVECCS POCUS workshops in Japan. Her hands-on teaching focuses on clinical integration — helping practitioners move from image acquisition to real-time decision-making at the bedside. She has co-authored peer-reviewed work on point-of-care ultrasound and continues to develop and deliver workshops alongside international faculty including Prof Søren Boysen and Dr Serge Chalhoub.

Dr Mark Haworth

Mark Haworth is a board-certified specialist in emergency and critical care, holding qualifications with both the Australian and American Colleges — MANZCVS (ECC) and DACVECC. He completed his residency at Murdoch University and in 2015 established the 24-hour emergency and critical care service at the University of Queensland School of Veterinary Science.

A clinician-educator with experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level, Mark has mentored two ECC specialists and contributed to peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in his field. His clinical interests span POCUS, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, sepsis, mechanical ventilation, and toxicology — including snake envenomation.
